Deployment In The Military

Deployment for families can be very difficult, especially if you’re extremely close to the family member. Deployment can be as short as a couple of months to over a few years, depending on the mission or job. I currently have 2 members of my family deployed they are both Marines. To know they are risking their lives for our freedom is a great feeling, but on the flip side, very sad to not know what could happen to them. Families write letters and stay in contact through social media, send gift packages as much as they can but that does not compare to the personal time they are missing. To know they are safe at home out of harm’s way is all we can ask for.

I am going to talk about one of them who got deployed most recently. When we found out one of them were being deployed it was a hard time for my family and ever harder for me, we grew up together our whole lives. He was ok with it as that is what he signed up for. But, to make sure all his paperwork was done correctly to protect his family and making sure he seen everyone before leaving was very hard and exhausting for him. We did not get to spend as much time together before he left as I was hoping for, but I completely understood. Military personnel have a lot to do before deployment and they do not get enough time to take care of everything and spend quality time with family and friends.
