What is it like to be a military child? I love being a military child. Ive been fortunate enough experience things normal kids wouldn’t normally be able to experience. Being a military child, has given me several opportunities that are just amazing and should be taken advantage of. Usually when people think about being a military child, they often imagine that we hate it and that we have to go to boot camp schools and always move around, but thats not true at all, well not for me. Yeah, there has been some ups and downs of being a military child but heres a lot more ups than downs.

When being in the military you can be called to move to different places a lot. That has never been a problem for me or anyone in my family but it has for people that I’ve been very close to that have moved away. Many children that are involved in the military have often made a barrier that shut out everyone around them to keep them from getting to close to people. They do this because they realize if they get too close it will cause a lot more pain to them when they move rather than not being close to them at all and having no problem with moving. Another problem with being a military child is deployment. Deployment of a child’s parent is heartbreaking. Deployment of a military member can last about two years. That is two years that a parent has missed of there child’s life and two years a child has not been able to see their mom or dad. Parents missing birthdays, christmases, graduations. The list goes on. Not being able to see ones parent can be very stressful on a child and can cause some depression for them. A child needs their
