Tradition #1- One common tradition is to create Calaveras also called sugar skulls. They are often made out of clay, sugar, or wood and is decorated with bright and florescent colors in various patterns. People have done their own interpretations of this tradition by making them using different recipes, Using different colors or patterns, or materials such as colored tinfoil or sequins.
Tradition #2- Another tradition is to create oilcloth banners. People use a material quite similar to plastic tablecloths called oilcloth. They print a pattern onto the colored sheet and cut out

This two day festival starts on November first and ends on November second. People often get Day of the dead (Dia del los Muertos) confused with Halloween because they both have a somewhat spooky aspect to them, but honestly they aren’t the same at all. An old legend stated that on Halloween families dressed up as witches, skeletons, and zombies so that they could blend in with the “Demons and monsters” that came out that day. While day of the dead is celebrated to remember the lives of fallen ancestors, not to grieve but to rejoice on the wonderful life that they had. On day of the dead (Dia del los Meurtos) many traditions take place such as feasting on your ancestors favorite foods, decorating their graves with a colorful display of flowers, and the two traditions that I had talked about earlier: Creating Oilcloth banners (a colorful banner with sheets of oilcloth with patterns cut out from them and hung on srting.), and what day of the dead is known for, sugar skulls also known as
