So first off, I would like to tell anyone that has never had the pleasure to ride one of these, you’re missing out! They are extremely fun and even though they can be dangerous, I would definitely say that it’s worth it to ride. I didn’t grow up riding dirt bikes, but for the past 10 years, I’ve been close to various friends and family that partake in riding and racing dirt bikes. So I’ve been able to learn all the nooks and cranies of a dirt bike, how they work, how to ride one and even a lot of maintenance that goes into them. So for this assignment, I though what better product could I chose than a dirt bike!
The basic gist of a dirt bike and how it works involves: an engine, a frame to ride on, wheels, handle bars with a clutch and break, and a shifter. The rim has evolved over the years, starting with steel, to alloy, stainless-steel and now most generic bike wheels are manufactured with aluminum, what you would consider stock. However, based on the rider and their performance, you can upgrade to all kinds of after-market rims which could be made with carbon fiber. Also, a lot of wheels can be coated with chrome for a better finished look. The Spokes are basically the same material process as the wheel is. Only the dimensions and forming process will obviously be different. As for the Hubs, they too have transformed over the years starting with a basic flat design to a disk-like shape that enabled better durability with the lighter weight and more options to use the hub with more of the wheels
