Is our country equal? Is it for everyone? It's not. Research is full of evidence of discrimination of hispanics. This is not equal its unfair and no one is doing anything about it. Why isn't anyone standing up? Where is the hispanics rights? Hispanics did everything for the U.S and this is what they repay them. Mexicans are being treated like a monster they did nothing wrong and deserve rights and freedom that a citizen has. Mexican-American civil rights are too little and that's a problem, there needs to be a solution out there.
Hispanic civil rights was did not happen recently. It happened long ago. When america was in the gold rush in the 1850s they helped alot. They changed how we american are today and americans still treat them bad. Hispanics

Adults and kids were deported against their will, they were U.S citizens and been in america for years. The only reason they came to america is to look for a better life and for freedom (Garcia, 252). This explains how mexicans were treated, “Mexican Americans suffered other forms of discrimination, like restaurants refused to serve Mexican Americans, swimming pools, restrooms. Drinking fountains and theaters were often segregated (Garcia,252).” America is even blaming hispanics that they do crimes, they don't belong here, they are useless, powerless, and even a burden, but that is wrong ( Dauphine). The government even stated that america always welcomes/has diverse ethnic cultures and it was supposed to be equal, but it's not. There's even proof of how Mexicans are treated, “Even studies found that nearly 3/10 Hispanics workers feel that they have been discriminated against their employment (Gibson).” The adults are not the only one being discriminated, the kids are too. The kids have suffered in school. Whenever they speak spanish in schools they would be badly punished (Garcia,252). In a website there was this, “1938 pecan shellers strike and the wrongful arrest and imprisonment of over 700 mexican Americans peacefully protesting a cut in wages (Dauphine). Just like what happened in the pipeline in North Dakota. What happened to freedom of speech? That's one of the most …show more content…
There are laws but the government always ignores the laws. Dauphine stated, “The case of Hernandez v. Texas in 1954 established the protection of the 14th amendment; all racial groups required equal protection” (Dauphine). If there is a law that represents our equal rights then why is some mexicans feeling discriminated. U.S congress passed the Jones Act and that gives citizens ship after mexican american war so people from other countries could be a citizen of America. Some more laws that were passed were in 1965 Voting Rights Act was passed and it said that hispanics can vote (Favile). Americans pity Hispanics and is doing this, “Brotherhood of Teamsters Union, a rival to the United Farm workers, offered growers the options to sign ‘Sweetheart’ contracts that placed profit over worker rights” (Chicano movement). That contract was useless and didn't even stayed long enough and was lies. Hispanics made groups to protest the rights, La Raza, and it's kinda working. At least there is a group of people called Global Policy Solutions was helping National Council of La Raza with hispanic rights (National Council). The government should at least notice what the mexicans are saying and make it come true. There needs to be laws that actually will stick and stay. The government needs to pay attention and make everyone in america happy and don't ignore peoples
