The debate of whether a whistleblower is a hero or traitor is one that every culture has to deal with. It becomes a catch-22 because you try to fix a bad situation and end up with awful consequences. In the case of one University of Oregon therapist, blowing the whistle cost her a job. No blame or punishment should ever come to whistleblowers for exposing important information, as they often bring to light dangerous or illegal activity, making them heroes.
