Edward Snowden was born in North Carolina in 1983. He took a citation in the US Army in 2004 with the hope of becoming part of the US Special Forces fighting in Iraq. He is a whistleblower who revealed how states engage in mass surveillance on a scale that no one could imagine. He was employed as a computer technician at the Central Intelligence Agency. After Snowden begin to work within the US intelligence services, he gained more access to information and higher security levels. Snowden has explained that he leaked the data of caring about democracy and freedom in the United States. Snowden sees himself as a patriot and knows what he has done when he leaked information to news agencies. Edward Snowden became a world renowned name since then and his actions have changed the public discussion about the relationship between national security and the protection of privacy and civil liberties. Another result of Snowdens action is that Internet security has become better when several major technology companies have invested in order to be able to protect their consumers and it turned out that the NSA and CIA spy more on American residents than on terrorists and foreign powers. Snowden said that he has not sold any information to foreign power and that there is no evidence to confirm this. People sometimes make a choice in life that may mean that they are stamped as traitors or heroes, all depending on what turn the story takes. But anyone who's pro government has to see him as a traitor. He did break the law and the oath he
