A mental disorder, also known as mental illness, is having certain conditions that can affect an individual’s mood, behavior and thinking. It cannot be cured, because it is apart of the person and there is no specific medication to cure it. But treatment is provided. This disorder makes life difficult for an individual, because it affects their ability to communicate and interact.
A mental disorder can be determined by diagnostics provided from a doctor. The doctor will run a couple of tests to see if an individual has any signs of any type of mental disorders. There are not any specific laboratory tests that doctors will use. But the tests would figure out if an individual has any signs or effects of a mental disorder. If an individual has certain signs for a specific mental disorder, they would most likely be diagnosed with it.
Autism can be known as a “spectrum disorder.” The reason why is the effects can vary differently from each person. No one is sure about the causes of autism, but awareness and diagnostics can be determined if an individual has this disorder. Some effects or signs are lack of language with peers, little to no eye contact and repetitive movement.
