Does The Fall of the House of Usher by edgar Allen Poe a gothic literature story. The story is about a guy named usher who invites the narrator to his house and weird stuff happens and user sister dies leading to him dying. Gloomy, decaying setting,intense emotions , character in distress and air of mystery and suspense show that this story is a gothic literature.

Gloomy, decaying setting is a setting where it's very dark like a place that unsettling and you would not want to be.”the whole of a dull, dark, and soundless day in the autumn of the year, when the clouds hung oppressively low in the heavens”. This quote shows gloomy decaying setting because it talks about how it was boring and dark and that it was very quiet like nothing was moving. This quote shows that there a character in distress because it’s saying the narrator thinks that he won't be seeing usher sister anymore. The narrator knows the sister is very ill and realises that she's gonna die and he won't see her anymore and there nothing he can do about it.

Intense emotions is an overwhelming of one emotions which is overpowering.
