Dogs are one of the most popular pets since they are so outgoing and loyal. They love to run, jump, and play; activities such as these are helpful to not only keep them healthy, but also their owners.
Dogs require frequent excercise and play for their physical and mental health. A common quote is "A tired dog is a good dog." Dogs who have a chance to play hard tend to not act out agressivly, are less likely to chew things that don't belong to them, and don't bark nearly as much. Not only for the dogs, but for people. In our world of social media, its easy to slip away from face to face contact with others. People can socialize with other dog owners and create friendships while bonding with their pets and even getting some excersise.
While the support for dog parks is overwhelmingly positive, there are issues of noise, odor, and the possibility of injuries. These are valid concerns, especially for those who own property near a dog park. There are, however, things that can help.
Planting trees and/or shrubs around the perimeter of the park can greatly reduce the noise and possibly even odors. Personal responsibility is the biggest contributor to success and friendly relationships with landowners. If we all clean up after our furry friends and even be willing to clean up after others that may have been missed, it shouldn't be an issue. It is our community, we should all take pride in it and be responsible pet owners. The same goes for barking and aggression. Train and discipline our dogs and be sure they are obeying.
