Connecting doodle to the Ibis “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst is a short story narrated by the older brother, who is trying to help his handicapped younger brother achieve tasks that is considered normal for an average person.
The younger brother doodle is born with a birth defect making everyone believe that he was going to die. After a while, the family realizes that he is going to survive but will not be able to walk. His older brother plans on killing him, feeling as if Doodle is an invalid child. Going towards doodle to murder him, his mind changes once the baby smiles at him.
