In the poem “Dover Beach”, it relates to the society of
Fahrenheit 451 because in the beginning of the poem it seemed like a very nice and relaxing place to be “the sea is calm tonight the tide is full, the moon lies fair” (Arnold 1). This displays mood since the reader gets an idea about the setting this applies to how everything in the story is calming and relaxing and almost utopic. In Fahrenheit 451, everything seemed to be perfect and great until Montag realized that there’s more to life than discovered books, he uncovered that there is a whole world behind those books. The character in this poem are the narrator and his wife who go on a honeymoon to Dover Beach, they have a good relationship in the poem the narrator looks at his wide and says “ah, love let us be true” (4) he is referring to how they should be honest with each other and loyal to one another because without loyalty their relationship will corrupt much like the relationship of Montag and his wife Mildred. Montag relied on the loyalty of his wife so she would main with him as he that the would later turn him into Beatty.
