As a family of a brewing company, Ted's family's wealth instantly evaporated. The same year Ted Seuss guys oh started his senior high school year at Springfield Central high he graduated with the senior class acknowledging him as the class went an artist. Boarding a train to White River Junction in 1921 Ted Geisel enrolled into college at Dartmouth University in New Hampshire. During a Sunday sermon Ted Seuss along with other classmates began drawing in one of the church pew Bibles the image of a ball this calf. Norman McLean the author of a River runs through it at that time wrote below heads doodle the fatted calf causing the boys to disturb Norman McLean's father's sermon. From there the relationship between Norman McLean and Ted Seuss led to Ted guys all becoming one of the editors on the college humor magazine the jack-o'-lantern. One of Ted guests however decided to urinate off the top of the house causing major alarm for the landlord who immediately called the town sheriff who then called the University of Dartmouth. The Dean of students telegraphed Ted's father and asked him what will hurt him the most? Ted's father responded to the Dean take away the editor position in a matter to him it will make him learn his lesson. In addition to speaking to the Dean Seuss's father TR wrote to his son saying “You’ve got to accept this punishment and wiped the blot from the family name." Resulting from this incident Ted was devastated and found it difficult leaving his room for three days. Seuss recalls those days in that instance saying I feel as though the rock had been rolled up, because the part that mattered the most was severed from me. My identity had been taken away from me." For the second time in Seuss's life the experiences between him and his father continues to serve a mighty blow. Adhering to his father's wishes to the T, Ted Seuss Geisel dropped the blot from his family by removing Geisel from his name while he continued to submit noodles to the jack-o'-lantern under pseudonyms like Louis Pasteur T SJ and Thomas Mott Osborne who at that time was in the warden at Sing Sing prison.
