Drones are a very controversial issue in the U.S. and even the world. Governments have been using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles since 1918. The first drones were used solely as weapons of war, but since then remote controlled Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have become widespread and publicly available for uses like photography, aerial inspection, and 3d mapping.

Drones have been used in photography as one of the first civilian uses, as a inexpensive alternative to renting a helicopter or plane. Now lower-budget film makers have the ability to take breathtaking aerial footage, advancing cinematography by several years.
