Tragic. Edgar Allan Poe wrote many gothic stories and poems back in the early 1800’s. Edgar Allan Poe’s life was very tragic as he had many close family members and close friends die from tuberculosis. In general, Edgar Allan Poe uses multiple examples from his life, for example, there was a lot of death in Poe's life, as well as incest, and alcoholism.

Poe’s stories correlate to his life for quite a bit of reasons, as of being death, incest, and finally alcoholism.
