Ed Snowden is a Hero In the USA there is something call Bill of Rights. Something that was created to limit the government’s power and keep the people’s freedoms. The fourth amendment prohibits forms of surveillance that compromise a citizen’s privacy. Edward Snowden a worker at NSA released documentation exposing the government and their program, designed to breach personal information in order to assure national security. These programs, principally run by the NSA, which is violating the fourth amendment. The USA is a republic. By definition it must be run for the people. The people previously had no knowledge of a nationwide surveillance system. Snowden unmasked a government that is unconstitutional and become a hero.

There are many unlawful things that are happening without the citizen knowing and for Snowden to come out and exposed the government, he is the true hero. “The N.S.A. has built an infrastructure that allows it to intercept almost everything. With this capability, the vast majority of human communications are automatically ingested without targeting.” (Snowden) The government have no rights to do that. “NSA, in targeting foreign suspects, has the capacity to access vast amounts of user data from US based Internet companies such as Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, and Skype.” (Cassidy) This just show that they are going way too far. With nobody to check the system balance, They think that they can do anything without others knowing. Snowden, saying he “cannot imagine a more 'indiscriminate' and 'arbitrary invasion' than this systematic and high-tech collection and retention of personal data on virtually every citizen”. The NSA refers to the 1979 Supreme Court case, Smith vs. Maryland, to defend themselves. The case revolved around a warrantless record of phone calls held by a phone company like AT&T and
