A stereotype is a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. When I witness a stereotype, I am expecting that somebody is making fun of a certain group, whether it be categorized by race, gender, religion, and many other topics, but that is not all of the ways stereotypes are displayed today. I have experienced stereotypes, whether it is though social media, school, or home, manipulating the way I view certain groups of people.
