In Orson Scott Card’s novel, Ender’s Game, the main character must leave his childhood behind, and become someone that is prepared to save the human race. As Card’s story progresses, Andrew ‘Ender’ Wiggin’s transition from a helpless, little boy, to a proverbial savior is evident.
The novel begins with Ender, a helpless, six-year-old boy, who depends on the constant interventions of his monitor. When the monitor is removed, it leaves Ender exposed to his eldest brother, Peter’s, unrelenting torment.
