English 111 Reflection

When I signed up to take English 111, I only took the class for the dual enrollment credits. I was in close competition for valedictorian and salutatorian positions of my class and my guidance counselor informed me if I did not take the class I would lose my class rank. I have never really favored English and I loathed writing essays. When I was in middle school I use to enjoy writing in a journal to eliminate the stress of the day, but it was a habit I ended in high school for a multitude of reasons. When I began writing something other than the horrid five paragraph essays we were forced to suffer through until this class, I found myself rediscovering the passion I once had for writing. This was the hardest essay for me to write, but I learned the most about myself and writing from it. At first I had no idea what I was going to write about, but someone in the class mentioned forgiveness. With it being our senior year, I felt like it was finally time to forgive those who had done wrong to me so many years ago. I decided to write about my sexual assault in eighth grade.
