On a journey for immortality, The Epic of Gilgamesh is an ancient tale about the many quest of King Gilgamesh of the City State Uruk. At first the King becomes obsessed with accomplishing dangerous and impossible task, such as defeating a powerful ogre named Humbaba, in order live on forever in the minds of others as a great and powerful person. However, despite his success in killing the ogre, this has little impact after Gilgamesh loses a dear friend, Enkidu, and then fears mortality and death itself. Gilgamesh then goes on a long, unsuccessful journey to become truly immortal and live on forever.
After Gilgamesh returns from this journey, he enters his great city Uruk with new eyes. He exclaims to his companion, Ur-Shanabi the boatman,
