As of this point in time, there is no cure for MD. However, there are a number of medications and therapy sessions one can take that can slow the growth of this disease. Even though there isn’t a cure, there are researchers that are looking into certain muscle-building medications that could slow down, or even reverse the progression of the disease. Symptoms can also be relieved conventional ways, by doing exercise, using canes, wheelchairs, scooters, and even having surgery. There is a way you can almost prevent MD. If you have a family history of MD and you are looking to have children, you can go to a genetic counselor, and talk to them about other options and ways to get around the disease.
