There have been many amendments to the Texas constitution and five major revision changes as well. The additional changes to laws and rules have made the Texas constitution long and disorganized. It is an argued fact that Texas has the longest and most confusing constitution out of any state. I agree revisions should be made to make the constitution shorter and more straightforward.

Some shared aspects include a bill of rights, bicameral legislation, checks and balances, and a establishment of separation of powers. Differences in both the Texas constitution and the US constitution is the length, amendments process and each branch's role. The US constitution is short and vague while the Texas constitution is longer because it has more details and more amendments. The US constitution has been amended 27 times compared to Texas which has 491 amendments. In other terms it's easier to make changes to state constitutions than it is to the US Constitution. In Texas we have 6 types of courts that have concurrent jurisdiction depending on the issue and two high courts one regarding civil cases and the other criminal offenses. The Federal Government has only three levels of courts District, Appeals, and Supreme courts. The legislative branch being a member of congress is a full time job whereas being in congress in Texas is only part time. The U.S congress meets annually and Texas Congress meets every two years for 140 day sessions. In Texas the governor can line item veto parts of a bill giving them more power over congress to whereas if the President were to try and line item veto it would be ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme
