Roberts Wesleyan College Ethical Dilemmas Ethical dilemmas easily and frequently sneak up on social workers. Through coursework and experiences, many social work students are able to process some of the larger ethical dilemmas that can occur. However, there are so many more ethical dilemmas that happen aside from the 2-3 ethical dilemmas discussed in a paper. One of the main questions with ethical dilemmas is how to conquer those dilemmas based on personal and professional values. Though it is clear that perspectives are looked at differently between doctors and social workers, this question helps me look at the idea of ethics and self-determination from a different perspective. When I initially read the question, I knew right away what my answer would be. As it is directly stated in the NASW Code of Ethics (2018), if a client is harming him or herself or someone else, confidentiality should be broken and steps to intervene to protect the client from the harm should be
