In college basketball, winning or recruiting doesn’t come easy. Colleges nowadays seem to do whatever it takes for their respective teams to win even if it is breaking NCAA rules. Giving the top high school players extra incentive beyond the typical recruiting pitch of strictly presenting the school and team's best assets has become a prominent issue in the world of college basketball. Sadly, this has become the new norm for recruiting as the top schools offer more money to these high school players and families. The school most known for behind the scenes scandals over the years has been The University of Louisville. Head coach Rick Pitino and Athletic Director Tom Jurich were recently put on administrative leave by interim president Greg Postel. The two along with the program allegedly worked with Adidas to funnel $100,000 to McDonald’s All-American 5 star shooting guard Brian Bowen. This is ethics problem has now even further ruined the school's reputation and worsened their team for the upcoming season. The team is now in shambles as they do not have a clear future for their program. It is hard to judge what to do because if a team does strictly follow the rules and does not play dirty (which is hard to find) their team is not as successful and make more money. On the other hand, if a team cashes in and does not play by the rules it can leak to the press, it’s flat out corrupt and is considered cheating, and can get the school in serious legal trouble.
