According to Spradley (1980), the several ways of choosing an ethnographic focus include personal interest, suggestions by informants, theoretic interest, strategic ethnography, and organizing domains. The possible ethnographic focus for my research include “what are the types of feelings exhibited by people in the library” based on personal interest, “what are the methods used for reducing disturbance to the patrons” suggested by informants, and “what are the steps involved in organizing a talk at the library” based on organizing …show more content…
First, it appears to be more ethnic prejudice, as it collects, archives, and make available to the general public German and German-language publications, foreign publications about Germany, translations of German works, and the works of German-speaking emigrants. Second, it is the leading partner in developing and maintaining rules and standards in Germany and plays a significant role in the development of international standards (“The German National Library,” n.d.). Third, its collection is available only for use in the reading rooms only, and not for loan outside of the library. Fourth, its website includes an organization chart showing the various departments, domains, and sections under the Director General of the
