A Worn Path is a story by begins with the journey of an elderly woman, Phoenix Jackson, in her way to town for her grandson’s medicine. In the story, the actual presence of Phoenix’s grandson was never really mentioned by the Narrator herself. However, he was only mentioned by other character throughout the whole story. In such, a debatable question is raised to argue whether her grandson was still alive at that period of time. The whole purpose for this long journey was merely for her grandson’s medicine. Her grandson is said that he was waiting for his grandmother in his house, it is likely that there is no any other family member. She answered to the nurse, “We is the only two left in the world.” No one actually know whether her grandson
