Evaluating evidence is key in any field of science, including psychology. Evaluating evidence is looking deeper than surface value at the evidence provided in a certain case, argument or theory. It is determining what evidence is offered, asking how an idea can be tested, looking at sources, using prior knowledge to determine authenticity and determining the difference between evidence based on real data versus fake data. It takes a simple concept and delves deeper into the elements of it and looking at testability and credibility.
