Evidence-Based Practice
The prevalence of overweight and obese children has grown tremendously in today’s society. Effective dietary intervention for overweight and obese children can make a difference by illustrate appropriate changes. This research is important to nursing because being overweight correlates with several different health related issues. Evidence based practice can be implicated with interventions and by using different information sources that give different perspectives allows nurse to provide high quality care. There are different evidence base practices that are available to help nurses. This will allow nurses to intervene to decrease serious medical issues.

It can save millions of dollars, promote good health status, and social beneficial to individual by promoting self-esteem. How it can save money by lower cost insurance rate, and reduce chance of creating expensive medical bills. There has been a study done on how obese or overweight clients are in different bracket on insurance rate because of increased chance having health issues. An example of an obese child developing diabetics has been estimated that 89.9 % of obese children are like to have this issue. (Shubrook, 2011). This will be costly depends on the type of insurance individual. The cost of supplies to mange and treat diabetics is not always covered by health insurance. Orthopedic complications, metabolic disturbances, type 2 diabetes, disrupted sleep patterns, poor immune function, skin problems, impaired mobility, and increased blood pressure and hypertension great possible change of deprived by being overweight and obese. E) Nursing in the case will act on intervention to education on child hood obesity with good dietary nutrition choices, physical exercise for at least 30 min a day, calorie specific for age group and give resource to help link to weight lose. I found that this article have done some great evaluation on overweight and obese children. This article has appropriate clinical and educational documentation for this research. There are effective evidences base practice with a strong level of data results for best practice. The authors who design this study in my opinion were very open and were not basis on clinical situation. Use a large wide range study participate that was from obesity clinical units, community programs, school, camp or one off programs that consider overweight or obese.
