The courtroom is full of tension as the citizens bicker to reveal the truth. Arthur Miller wrote a fictional allegory entitled The Crucible, that takes place during 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts. The source of the town’s downfall are deceitful Abigail Williams, lustful John Proctor, self-concerned Reverend Parris, greedy Thomas Putnam, and jealous Elizabeth Proctor. The sins of Salem begin with revenge, greed, and lies. As revenge unfolds the city will quickly self destruct.
