Odysseus encounters the Cyclops, who was a giant monster with one eye, that likes to eat people. Odysseus tricks the Cyclops by saying his name was “Nobody”. Instead of replying back, the Cyclops went to the door of the cave and rolled a huge stone so the exit was blocked. The Cyclops decided to go to bed and before he went to bed he went and ate two of Odysseus’ men. It put fear in the rest of the crew, but Odysseus was brave and he thought of an intelligent way to get out of the cave. Odysseus ordered his men to grab the Cyclops’ sharpened stick and stab it in his eye and the Cyclops began screaming. He rolled the stone back out to see the light and cried because he was now blind. The fire made up the light for the men to see and their adrenaline helped them get through the underworld. Odysseus and his men got to the underworld to speak to a spirit named, Tiresias. He told Odysseus a safe way back to get to Ithaca. He pushed through his fears to get he and his men home
