Fear is something that comes from the past to haunt you in the future, such as characters in The Crucible. Everybody has this fear of following the holy ways in Salem to not be accused of witchery or witchcraft. The main characters that have a part in this are John Proctor,, Abigail, and Rev. Parris.
John Proctor’s fear is that his 6 month affair from the past with Abigail Williams is going to come to the light, and that his wife Elizabeth Proctor find out that he was committing adultery.
