Imagine yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn't have a stable job and goes around hitchhiking looking for a job almost everyday. Well that's pretty much how George and Lennie live in, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Of Mice and Men takes place during the Great Depression in California, U.S.A. George and Lennie are the main characters. George is the one with all of the ideas and Lennie is the "dumb" one that just follows along with everything. A huge part of the book is friendship. Friendship has the power to make one feel like they belong.
Many examples of friendship can be found in Of Mice and Men. A good example of friendship is when George tells Lennie to, "jus' stand there and don't say nothing" (6).
