During the Middle Ages, there were seven sins identified as "the seven deadly sins.” The first on the list was pride. Pride leads to a feeling of superiority over others. We know from experience that history tends to repeat itself. One way it is manifested among teenagers today is through self-entitlement.

Recently, in South Carolina, a high school student refused to follow instructions given by her teacher, the vice-principal and a police officer. The officer physically removed her from her chair and was fired for being too physical. The student was arrested and suspended from school.
