Along with being transported over state and international lines. A similar pattern is seen in Alaska. The sex traffickers were targeting girls visiting Anchorage to attend Alaska Federation of Natives events and conferences (DeMarban, 2010a). There was reported cases in which Alaskan Native girls were lured from remote rural communities to Anchorage for prostitution (DeMarban 2016a; McBride,2011). Sex traffickers use many ways to recruit girls. There are cases of where they have kidnap minors using drugs or abducted by force. They also use coffee shops, malls, bus stops, clubs, and college campuses (U.S. Department of education, 2013). Some other tactics that a trafficker uses are advertisements as a photographer to help build a girl modeling career or as a music producer (Clawson et al., 2009). They pray on the vulnerabilities of the victim with the promise of love, money, protection and belong that they are missing from home (Friedman, 2005: Lloyd, 2011). Once recruited the traffickers will use various ways to control their victims. Some traffickers use sex and drugs while others will use force, intimidation, or fear. They will foster an emotionally dependence and then convince the girls to have sex with random people for the good of the relationship. The more violent traffickers will use gang rape to break them and then force them out onto to the street to be sold after they are branded or tattooed with the trafficker or pimps
