Dissolved oxygen is oxygen that is trapped in a fluid, such as water. Since many living organisms requires oxygen to survive, it is a necessary component of water systems such as streams, lakes and rivers in order to support aquatic life. The dissolved oxygen is measured in units of ppm (parts per million). A researcher has found ten bodies of water with incrementally increasing dissolved oxygen and decides to use these to examine the effect dissolved oxygen has on a certain population of fish. 5. What would be your control?
My control group for this experiment would be a separate fishbowl with regular water added to it along with 10 fish. This bowl would also sit for 24 hours next to the experimental fishbowl. This controlled fishbowl who should if the fish were able to maintain life with non-tampered living conditions.
6. What type of graph would be appropriate for this data set? Why?
A graph type that would be appropriate for this data set is a line graph. I would choose this type of graph for this experiment because line graphs are very easily interpreted along with organized looking.

The line graph above demonstrates that once the fish population outdoes the dissolved oxygen levels by too much, that some fish die which would then result in the drop of fish population shown above. The experimental approach on Sally I would take is a specific diet for eight weeks. The first four weeks Sally would be on a diet of healthy foods only. The second set of four weeks Sally will be on a diet of only fatty foods. Every day during breakfast, lunch, and dinner I would measure her BP (blood pressure) and weigh her. This would be done both during the healthy diet and fatty foods diet. Just using common knowledge Sally would likely have a lower BP and possibly lower weight during the first four weeks of a healthy diet.
