Looking at HIV diagnosis by race/ethnicity, we can see that blacks suffer from new cases at an alarming rate with the overall rate being eight times more than of their white counterparts. Latino’s, gay and bisexual men also face HIV-related health disparities. That’s why it is important to figure out how we can reach out to minorities and start health interventions that will begin their treatment process. Americans with Disabilities Act is a civil rights law that protects people from discrimination and encourage them to seek the treatment they deserve without the fear of being outcasted or shamed. To reduce stigma, reassurance from schools, churches, businesses, and media outlets that they support people living with HIV will put them at ease and they’ll be more willing to disclose their status without the fear of judgement. Promoting public leadership by people living with HIV is another great way to end stigma along with promoting a public health approach. And last, we must strengthen the enforcement of civil rights
