WOW! This week in the field has flown by so quickly. It has been my hardest, most stressful week since I have been in Trinidad. I felt like there was just not enough time to finish what needed to be done this week. My successes this week outweighed my weaknesses both in and out of the field. In the classroom this week, my MT and I practiced one teach, one assist co-teaching. Whether it was myself teaching math and her assist with some activities or my MT teaching PYP and I assist.
This week I spent a majority of the day teaching. I have been taking over the whole class morning routine. I started my edTPA task 4 learning segments this week, so I had math as well. For our PYP unit, the students were to finish their research on their two types of homes …show more content…
My MT and I practiced team teaching during this time. I assisted students who were doing a PowerPoint presentation. Most of the students did not know how to make a PowerPoint, so I assisted the students in making a PowerPoint. While I was assisting students with that, my MT was helping students who chose to do a poster board and/or still researching their two homes. Some of the students who were doing PowerPoints also had to finish researching their homes prior to creating a PowerPoint. So, I too, assisted those students who still needed help with researching their two homes they chose.
Some of my successes this week included beginning my learning segment for edTPA Task 4. Woo! So far, the students have enjoyed learning about place value and the different ways a number can be represented. Not only did I start task 4 for edTPA this week, I was also able to have the class fully to myself on Friday. I had this opportunity, because my MT took an off day. That day I was able to do everything! I did the morning routine, my math lesson for that day, complete a science experiment and have the students practice
