Throughout this course of psychology I feel I can describe psychology better because I have learned more and have a broader view for psychology. Psychology is the study of the mind, behavior, and mental processing. The discipline embraces all aspects of the human experience from the functions of the brain to the actions of nations, from child development to care for the aged like in the sandwich generation. There are many fields in psychology like clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, comparative psychology, and counseling psychology. Counseling psychology uses interviews and tests to define their clients’ problems. Clinical Psychology helps people with psychological disorders adjust to the demands of life. Two thousand years, Aristotle wrote a book on psychology with contents like the book we use.
If I was a psychologist I would decide to be a social psychologist. Social psychologist specialize in the factors influencing human behavior in groups. In other words they rely on scientific research to explain why people behave and think the way they do in social settings. Sociocultural perspective is the view that focuses on the roles of ethnicity, gender, culture, and socioeconomic status in behavior and mental processes. People around the United States have been in an uproar over the past few months because of the police killing black men. This has caused riots, and protest nationwide. These people are acting this way
