1. Database is a collection of facts about a subject that has been organized to yield meaningful information such as that required make critical business decisions. Accounting information system is a collection of resources, such as people and equipment, designed to transform financial and other data into information. So databases are important for accounting information systems. Databases are organized in such a way that queries can be posed, figures can be totaled, and report can be generated. The cornerstone of a database is the record, a complete collection of information about one data entity. The essence of database is the ability to collect several pieces of information about one entity. Database technology provide data integration, reporting flexibility, data independence, data sharing, cross functional analysis, and central management of data.
