Forrest Gump named after Nathan Bedford Forrest the general of the Ku Klux Klan. Forrest was not a not as fortunate as other kids; he had a low IQ, but that did not stopped him from achieving great things. Such as becoming a football star, serving in the Vietnam War along with his best friend Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue, and pursuing his dream of becoming a shrimp boat captain. During Forrest childhood, he met Jenny Curran a childhood friend, love interest, and later wife. Forrest spends most of his time following Jenny’s footsteps and keeping her out of trouble. In the end, Jenny passed away by unknown diseases and left Forrest behind with their child Forrest Gump Jr.
Despite Forrest low IQ and troubled Jenny, he was able to find harmony
