A. This week for the reporting period there weren’t many activities that I observed and participated in. I did have the opportunity to sit in during a foster care review which is a discussing about a permanency plan. I mostly worked at the receptionist desk during this week and was responsible for answering the telephone and transferring clients to caseworkers.
B. I really didn’t have any feelings towards my observations this week because I didn’t see much. Most of the workers were out of the office this week but I did experience how frustrated clients become when they are unable to reach a caseworker. I’ve noticed how the caseworkers have so many cases that they aren’t able to reach everyone but I also can understand the frustration of those clients that continue to call and don’t get a response. I feel that the office that I’m apart of need more workers and that the workers should advocate to get more help.

My experience this week has taught me to think more about the clients but also to give credit to those social workers that are really trying. I’ve seen caseworkers who seem burnout and tired but they love what they do and that’s what makes the job worth it.
D. In one of my social work courses we discussed role reversal and how to strategize. This basically means a person expresses his or her opinions only after restating the ideas and feelings of the opposing person. It is intended for the role reversal to be perceived as people who are understanding, willing to compromise, cooperative, and trustworthy and I am learning this more being out in the
