The first step as soon as I pass away is to make funeral arrangements with the funeral home to have three days of viewing. The day after I pass away I would like close family members of mine to go to the funeral home to bathe and dress me. The next two nights for about four hours, at the funeral home is the viewing where family and friends shall visit. Make arrangements at the funeral home to have three days of viewing of the body for four hours each. Two times to be in the night and one time in the morning which is the last day. The morning session takes the last day. During the viewing days all family and friends are invited. It lasts for a year. Prayers will help me go to the next phase of my life and hope that the prayers and gifts can make the journey easier. For two weeks family and friends come to my home for vegetarian food, to talk, play games and much more. The games being played are board games, cards and dominoes which help keep the mind busy during this difficult time. This helps to pass time, pay respects and to be with one another. Multiple nights a singing group comes to play music and sing prayers. The casket needs to have flowers and spray me with perfume. Family members return home and bathe after the burial. This cleans them and makes sure no spirit has followed them. Death has also been in the home; therefore, bathing and cleaning is followed. The Pundit purifies the home with incense, prayers and mantras. All family must stay home. Certain foods, sweets, fruits and meat should not be eaten.
