The father of modern science had little to do with biology, but rather physics and astronomy. Galileo Galilei challenged all of the public teaching and was actually right about it, even providing proof for his theories. In a time of Aristotelian beliefs Galileo enlightened us about our own sun and the planets near us. He truly showed us a whole new world, one where the Earth revolved around the sun not the other way around as previously thought. He introduced us to our solar system for what it really is. Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy on February 15th, 1564. He was the first of six children his parents were Vincenzo Galilei and Giulia Ammannati. In 1574 Galileo began his education at Camaldose monastery, Florence, Italy. When Galileo was going to begin college he was …show more content…
His father told him to become a doctor, so he did and enrolled at the University of Pisa in 1583. Once at the University of Pisa he took medical courses, however he began taking mathematics and physics courses. Soon he stopped taking medical classes all together and chose to take math and physics courses instead. Unluckily in 1585 Galileo had to drop out of the University of Pisa because of financial issues, it was also around this time that he began to take an interest in art. To get himself more known Galileo published a book on a hydrostatic balance called The Little Balance. After dropping out Galileo began teaching smalltime classes like art, but this all changed when he began to get more well-known thanks to his book on hydrostatic balances. After some time Galileo gained a teaching position at the University of Pisa teaching mathematics. Sadly in 1851 Galileo’s father died leaving him to care for his younger brother and pay for the family’s needs, which made him have to privately tutor students for more money. While he was teaching at the University of Pisa he continued to do experiments and publish papers. One of his most known papers is Du
