Galileo Galilei was born February 15, 1564. There were many people in his large family. He came from a very talented family. Vincenzo and Giulia were his birth parents, which lived very well off. Vincenzo was famous for his composing of music. Galileo was not necessarily rich, but his family was definitely hard workers, thinkers, and doers. Galileo was always studying. Being the very well educated man he was, Galileo was always challenging his mind. He attended the University of Pisa in 1583. This was where he chose to study medicine. Choosing this field of study allowed Galileo to access in the arts of mathematics and physics. He learned many things while studying at this university, but most importantly he was drawn to the Aristotelian view, which was influ-enced by Aristotle, himself. His views and beliefs on the world always reverted back to Catholicism, which later changed. His views between Catholicism and the Aristotelian view began to differ, which led him to making vows of not teaching because he valued his faith that much. Galileo was searching for truth in all aspects of life. He believed that there was a God, but over the years of his teachings and discoveries, Galileo still remained a Catholic but in some as-pects he found himself shying away from the church. Many people ask why, but it is as simple as this. The church and science can correlate in some aspects, but at the end of the day, there will always be a large barrier. The more Galileo became intertwined with sci-ence, the more he realized that the church was not in fully support of the progress of
