They compare the interactions of men and women at fraternities and in college social life. There is an ongoing abusive attitude toward women within a culture where rape is intertwined in gender scripts. The actions that occur on college campuses portrays the domination that men think they have over women. Boswell and Space also talk about the stereotypes that comes with sexual activity. Sexually active men in college are labeled as “studs” and women are labeled as “sluts”. The relationships between men and women have changed throughout the years. “Hooking up” has now replaced dating. There was a quote made by a man that was very frustrating. The man said that when you are really drunk all you want to do is to take a girl home with the intention of as much sexual pleasure as she will give you. Women are sometimes seen as sex objects. They are looked at as sexual objects especially in college. In this advertisement from ‘Hunky Dory’s’, the company uses a scandalous woman. You can easily see her boobs. The company is using her looks to sell their product to consumers. She is being used as a sexual object so that they can sell their product.
