The purpose of the study was to identify any gender differences in conformity. Collin, Sano, and Malik (1994) came across studies, conducted in the past, that women proved to conform more to than men (Eagly & Carli 1981). Researchers Kretch, Crutchfield, and Ballachey (1962) and Worchel and Cooper (1976) hypothesized females were expected to conform more than men due to social expectations.
