Anxiety is the most common psychological turmoil facing school adolescent in everyday life. Anxiety plays a vital role in social life and school life as every school adolescent in one way or another are victims of this disorder. It is estimated that 4% to 25% of the world adolescent in school faces anxiety (Walsh, 2010) and this figure could be higher because majority of school adolescent mainly in developing countries, Tanzania being one of them start and finish their studies without testing anxiety levels. Theoretically, anxiety has been divided into two parts, trait anxiety and state anxiety. Trait anxiety refers to an individual’s semi-permanent susceptibility to anxiety while state anxiety refers actual characteristics or experience of an individual in a certain situation (Eysenck, 1986). It includes; generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), Specific Phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and panic disorder. However, considering the nature of this study, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD) and panic disorder have been discussed due to the fact that the majority of students in schools suffers most of them.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is the most common anxiety disorder affects the majority of school adolescent and teens. School adolescent with GAD feels anxious and worried from time to time when faced with certain situation example examination, interview or speaking at school events. Generalized Anxiety makes student highly uncomfortable not because it is an intense kind of anxiety that it is generally relatively mild but also because of its persistent and unending presence (Lahey, 2007).
