There are many famous works dating back to biblical times that are studied today. Two examples of these works are the Bible and the Epic of Gilgamesh. The Bible is the writings and words of God and the way that we are supposed to live our lives and accept him as our Savior to gain eternal life. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a story of a king in Uruk that dates back before Christ, and tells about Gilgamesh’s life and he ultimately is faced with his morality. Both works of literature make note of popular topics, such as the serpent and the flood. While these are mentioned in both works, there are many similarities and differences in each of these literary images. It is important to note the significance of these topics in each literary work.
