Innovators Guide states that though job outlook is said to be a little rough; it’s usually, “about as fast as average. Keen completion for jobs expected; individuals with Web site design and animation experience will have the best opportunities,” (Innovators Guide). Employment is expected to go up 13% (Paragraph 2). They are typically hired in huge groups by graphic design firms in order to work on a lot of projects for customers with specific needs (The Art Career Project). Graphic artists are also employed by companies to help out their organization. There are even some who decide to work freelance and pick their own projects, but they have to find their own clients. Though at times it’s hard to find good work and many may need to pick up a second part time job in order to provide for themselves. “Most will spend months, maybe years doing unpaid or poorly-paid placements. They all need to have a high level of social contact for example. They have to talk to supervisors and clients on a daily basis, communicate through technology, figure out what the client wants, and work most of the time in a group or part of a team (Arizona Career Information System). They must have a good work performance. They have to make sure, “… their work is exact. Errors could cause clients to need to reprint brochures, for example. Make decisions that affect clients and coworkers on a weekly basis. They make most decisions by consulting a supervisor. Set most daily tasks, goals, and priorities without consulting a supervisor first. Abide by strict deadlines on a daily basis. This makes the work environment fairly competitive. Often repeat the same physical activities, such as drawing or using a computer mouse,” (Arizona Career Information System). The last major work condition besides being able to work indoors are the hours and travel. Now graphic designers can work a monogamous schedule, mostly work full time as opposed to part-time, and will usually have to work overtime (Arizona Career Information
