When the Qin (Chin) dynasty ruled all of China, over 300,00 thousand men from their army were ordered to help build and guard the wall until complete, and I seriously doubt anyone could live 2,500 years. The estimated count of civilians that were killed during the construction are 500,000 or more, and that is only from the Qin and Han dynasties. During the Han dynasty over 80% of deaths were caused by raids of the Xiongnu (Shung-Nu), and that last 20% died from harsh weather, dehydration, or starvation. (Document E)

the Chinese had to pay the Mongos not to attack them, these payments were made in food, silk, and other think they might have needed during that time period. Every year the payment increased, and it got to a point where no one would work because they couldn’t eat. Any prisoners had a choice build or die, and not many people wanted to die, but it didn’t do them any good because they all ended up dying from weather, no food, and/or no water. (Document A)
In conclusion, I think that this 5,000 mile-long wall, that took over 2,500 years to build was a complete waste of lives, resources, food, and silk. They all ended up dying and suffering from no food and water. All of their army was killed guarding a wall, at least the Han were nice enough to only make them guard the wall for 2 to 5 years. When cities and towns were raided, they took everything, and everyone was either killed or spared and became slaves, depending on their mood. These are the reasons that the Great Wall of China was a huge waste in China’s history and
